Title

Intracoastal Waterway on PGA Boulevard

Subject

Bridges - PGA Intracoastal Bridge

Description

The first two-lane drawbridge spanning the Intracoastal Waterway was completed in 1966 on PGA Boulevard. This bridge was an important link to US Highway 1 from the newly created City of Palm Beach Gardens. The PGA Bridge was also known to locals as the "Please Go Around Bridge" due to its many closings and construction delays during its expansion to four lanes, completed in 1982.
