Description
In 1971, a new two-story municipal complex was constructed to house the police department; city clerk; city manager; the finance, building, and recreation departments; and the city council chambers. In 1974, six air-conditioned cars patrolled the city and the department consisted of three lieutenants, three sergeants, two detectives, fourteen patrolmen, one desk sergeant, and nine dispatches. Shown to the left is the 1978 sworn and non-sworn staff.
