Although he was also the owner of a Family Flooring business, Mike Martino first made a name for himself in Palm Beach Gardens by pleading with the city council to maintain the athletic ballfields. When Jim DeLonga encouraged him to run for city council as one way of dealing with these concerns for the community, Martino was almost immediately embraced by the residents. Understandably, he was selected as the city’s mayor on multiple occasions between 1974 and 1993.
