When Palm Beach Gardens Elementary School first opened in 1962, it was the first of two schools built in the city. It was constructed on 11 acres located at 10060 Riverside Drive and cost $340,000. The school, which opened with 450 students, had 14 classrooms, a library, a cafeteria, a children's room, and staff offices.
