Description

When the Palm Beach Gardens Community Hospital opened on Burns Road in 1968, its first patient was a seven-year old girl. The hospital cost $1.3 million to build and equip and originally opened as a nonprofit operation. This 89-bed facility was later given to the City of Palm Beach Gardens by its builder, John D. MacArthur. In 1970, the hospital was acquired by American Medical International and later expanded several times.
