During the first few months of 2010, Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue was notified that fragments of the World Trade Center’s buildings were available as 09.11.01 memorial art pieces for local municipalities. The city council unanimously approved spending up to $60,000 to send an honor guard to escort the flag-draped piece back to the city. The site was dedicated on September 11 of the same year.
