Description
In 1961, MacArthur transplanted a banyan tree to the site of Northlake and Garden Boulevards at the main entrance to Palm Beach Gardens. However, unforeseen problems arose during the transplant, including the cutting of the Western Union lines connecting South Florida with the rest of the world. This image illustrates the incredible labors that were undertaken to achieve such a grand effort.
